Rev. Edward F.
Cornell III MDiV.
Rev. Cornell comes to us after serving as Pastor of the Second Congregational
Church, UCC in New London, Ct.
Rev. Cornell has served as an interim in several Congregations in Conn. He has served in Andover,
Northford, and New Milford, as well as Feeding Hills Mass. Rev. Cornell has served as a settled Pastor
in Killingworth and New London.
Rev. Cornell is a Graduate of Yale Divinity; He also holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Marketing) and B.A.
Liberal Arts (Sociology) from Quinnipiac University. Rev. Cornell has also studied at Bridgeport University and Hartford Seminary.
He views Faith communities as a living organism and enjoys using a family system approach to faith communities. Rev.
Cornell is currently concluding a Masters in Human Services with a concentration in Clinical Counseling. He is a member of
the Interim Network and a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. His current projects
are two; one is to find a path to connect the Faith Institutions to the Human Service institutions. His second project is
to write and implement a program to assist grandparents who are the primary care givers of their grandchild. This project
is to aid them to be equipped to understand the world of today’s youth.
Rev. Ed Cornell is married to Peg for 40 years. They have two sons and
two grandchildren. Margaret (Peg) Cornell is an APRN. Peg practices at The Center for Geriatric and Family
Psychiatry, in Glastonbury and has a private practice in Keene New Hampshire. The Cornell’s are dedicated
grandparents and spend one day a week with their grandchildren.
The Cornell sons are Geoff who is an EMT/Paramedic, and Christopher who
is married to Tonya Cornell, APRN. Chris owns a photo business and is a student in the ordination track at Andover Newton
Theological Seminary. Tonya specializes in Child Psychology. They have two children Toby and Fiona.
Rev. Cornell has served on the
Connecticut Conference Board of Directors and has served his local Association as Treasurer.
